Food Intolerances & Testing

Call us on 1300 1REMED  0r 1300 173633 or book an appointment online with one of our experienced practitioners for  food intolerances and testing.

Food intolerance or food hypersensitivities are common causes of chronic or recurrent symptoms such as fatigue, headaches and migraines, bedwetting and sleep disturbances in children, eczema and digestive problems such as IBS, bloating, constipation and diarrhoea.

Unfortunately, some food sensitivities are not easily detected. Food allergies are IgE-mediated immune reactions that are severe and occur with every contact. However, delayed hypersensitivities can take up to 72 hours to cause the symptom, making it impossible to pinpoint the cause.

At ReMed, our practitioners are trained specifically in how to identify if food intolerances are contributing to your health. They may recommend IgG intolerance test which gives you detailed information on which foods you should be avoiding.

IgG food intolerance test is simple with a small sample of blood is taken via a finger prick and tested against a 96 food panel, so your practitioner can advise what is best for you.

Your practitioner will then structure an elimination diet personalised for each individual patient. A program to strengthen, rebuild and improve the integrity of the gastrointestinal tract with a focus on reducing any inflammation will be recommended alongside this dietary change. Foods may be reintroduced as some people may be able to tolerate foods with reduced frequency and amount.
