  • Do you live with constant stomach pain and bloating after meals?
  • Do you dread going out for dinner because you’re not sure how it will affect you?
  • Have you had all the tests and they say there’s nothing wrong with you?

Then you may be experiencing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or even received that as a diagnosis.  But having a name doesn’t provide insight or power in dealing with the symptoms. And what’s more it doesn’t acknowledge the impact that the symptoms have on energy levels, quality of life, and the simplest of pleasures – eating!

IBS is a functional gastro-intestinal disorder, which means that structurally everything is normal, but the sensation and movement of the digestive organs may be out of balance.

If you chronically suffer from 2 or more of the following symptoms you may have a functional digestive disorder that needs attention:

  • Abdominal cramps or sharp pains
  • Urgent bowel movements or diarrhoea
  • Constipation
  • Excessive wind
  • Abdominal bloating
  • Reflux or indigestion
  • Nausea

Don’t give up – there is a solution!

Yes you can live a normal life again, go out to dinner and not have to worry where the nearest toilet is.

First you need to work out the cause of the disordered digestion and for each person that it is a different based on their body, diet, genetics and history.  For example some people are intolerant to gluten, others can’t eat foods high in FODMAPS.  For others their symptoms appeared after an infection. Or it can be a combination of a few factors.  All of this irritation upsets the nervous system in the gut and creates dys-function (versus dis-ease).

Confusing right?  How do you know which it is?  Our naturopaths are trained to assist you in finding and treating the cause of your symptoms, providing you with guidance and tools for the future.

You can be free from those symptoms much sooner that you think, so take action today.
